Race Day at Willow Springs
I picked up Tiya Saturday night and we hung out together. We watched "Meet Joe Black," one of my favorite movies. Tiya was really getting into the movie too. We got up this morning, ate breakfast, took showers, hopped on the motorcycle and rode up to Willow Springs International Raceway. It took us a good hour to get there but it was a nice ride. We sat near turn four for several races and then rode down into the pitts. Tiya got to check out all the bikes. We both especially liked the L.A. Sheriffs bike. They are at the track every month and are really nice guys. We talked to them for a while and then watched a few more races from turn one. The bigger bikes - LIKE MINE (SMILE)- are slowing down from probably around 180 mph going into turn one. We went back to turns three and four to watch the last of the races which the sheriffs were riding in. I think we watched about 12 races all together. We left the track around 3:30 and grabbed a bite to eat at Subway on the way to the freeway. It was dark and cold on our ride home. Tiya was shivering on the back of the bike. When I dropped her off at her Mother's she said, "Daddy, thank you. I had so much fun!" That made my whole day!
